Cer. O .Ceramics | XII Creative Ceramics Fair

We are participating for the first year in Cer. O. Cerámica !!

With the aim of promoting the development of ceramics in its most creative and artistic manifestations, the Association of Ceramists of Asturias (ACA) in collaboration with the City Council of Oviedo organizes Cer. O. Cerámica .

Creative ceramics offers artists a wide space to explore new forms, expressions and concepts in their works; to experiment with new techniques, materials, shapes, textures and colours; and to express contemporary and innovative ideas beyond the merely conventional. In short, an artistic manifestation that not only enriches our culture, but also motivates and invites us to reflect on the connection between tradition and the avant-garde.

During the Fair, the Municipal Culture Foundation awards the III Roberto Parga Prize to the best ceramic work on display.

We present a Solo Project by Abi Castillo (Vigo, 1987).

Illustrator and ceramist from the city of Vigo. Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo and trained in ceramics at the EMAO.

Ceramics has offered him a world of aesthetic and creative possibilities to give shape and volume to his creatures and characters. He feels the need to give life to objects, always looking for eyes to look into, which is why faces are very important in his work.

His works maintain a romantic ideal of the natural world, fanciful, as if it were his own garden, and his characters hide hints of humor and drama, always playing with ambiguity.

This ambivalence between mysticism and drama, between the monstrous and the beautiful, is very present in all his personal project.

She has exhibited her works at JustMad, Hybrid Art Fair, O! Gallery in Porto, Crackids Lisbon and Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles, among others, and collaborated with the Zara brand with her illustrations in the Women in Art project.

"This series is dedicated to my daughter and is about my vision of motherhood, from a point of view of deep love and oxytocin intoxication, thanks to which I have survived this last year.

Raio de Lúa is a set of works conceived during the night, in which I talk about the things that are changing in me, the full phases and the empty phases, which like the moon return cyclically.
